Land Resource Regions (LRR) boundaries for the conterminous United States.  Intended as a basemap for US national level natural resource analysis.
Purpose:
For use with the GEOSTAC database, this data layer was compiled in order to simplify the pesticide risk assessment and provide a common data set for all stakeholders.
Supplemental_Information:
This coverage contains the Land Resource Regions (LRR) boundaries for the conterminous United States.  LRR  boundaries were derived from the Major Land Resource Area (MLRA) boundaries for the conterminous United States compiled by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and last updated in 2002.  The original, source GIS files and metadata document for the MLRA data set, available at  http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/technical/land/aboutmaps/coverages.html, provides additional details as to the compilation process of MLRA boundaries.
