Solar and Meteorological Surface Observation Network 1961-1990 (SAMSON) (NOAA) -- SAMSON is a compilation of National Renewable Energy Laboratory solar data and National Weather service hourly surface observations for the period 1961-1990. This data set consist of the latitude and longitude of the 237 SAMSON Weather Station vectorized in point format and assoicated Weather Station identification units.
For the GEOSTAC database, this data set was compiled in order to to simplify pesticide risk assesment by providing a common data set that all stakeholders can perform analysis upon.
For additional information about the SAMSON network, please visit: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oa/climate/uscrn/, or to view SAMSON lat/long and station identification units, visit: http://www.epa.gov/ceampubl/tools/metdata/index.htm
